Welcome to the 2024 WTCP Registration Session!

This registration session will allow you to provide complete contact information & sign up for participation in the upcoming season. 

 

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING***

- UNIFORM FITTING - April 14th 9am-1pm or April 16th 6pm-8pm. (Your athlete MUST attend one of the uniform fittings to participate in WTCP).

- Choreography Dates: We are in the process of determining choreography dates. Since we are starting the season early per the ICA, choreography will most like take place in June. 

- WTCP Cheer Season will begin June 1st, 2024. 

- Practice will be Tuesday and Wednesday outside at Warren Township Park for the first month. 

- Due to new ICA rules, WTCP will take a two week break from cheer June 30th-July 13th.

- Practice will pick back up July 16th. 

- Indoor practices will begin in July or early August. Once we are indoors, practice days WILL change. WTCP will provide that information to parents as soon as we have it. 

- WTCP will participate in 3 competitions PLUS the State Championship if your athletes team advances to STATE. 

- Should your athletes team advance to STATE, there will be an additional fee. In recent years the fee has been $165, to be paid prior to attending State.

- WTCP will cheer at Warren Youth Football games. They will cheer at 4-5 games during the season. Those dates will be added to your athletes team calendar as soon as we are provided them. All games will take place on Saturday or Sunday at Warren Township High School.  

- WTCP will participate in the Gurnee Days Parade (Sunday, August 11th), Warren Township High School Homecoming Parade (Date TBD) and Warren Township High School Youth Night (Date TBD).  

 

NEW to WTCP this Year! 

CALLING ALL COACHES: 

This year Warren Township Cheer and Pom are looking for one ADULT coach for each team. This is new to our program and we are excited for this experience. Junior Coaches have always done a fabulous job and we are looking forward to them having additional support this season. 

Applications, criminal background checks and child abuse clearances are required for all cheer coaches. WTCP's background check program is handled through the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI).

COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide an enjoyable experience for all athletes and Jr Coaches. Cheerleading should be fun. We are looking for coaches that have cheer knowledge and are able to incorporate their knowledge into a fantastic cheer season. 

- Provide a safe experience. You are responsible for planning and teaching activities in such a way that the progression between activities minimizes risks.

- Teach basic skills. In becoming a coach, you take on the role of educator. You must teach all of your athletes the fundamental skills and strategies necessary for success in Cheerleading.
